CAMP HARDTNER NEWS JUNE 2009 SUMMER IS HERE- The counselors have arrived and completed training. The pool is full and looking good. The grounds are green and groomed. The Kitchen smells GREAT. The Camper’s lounge is set up. The Pav is ready. Music is playing. It must be summer! Enrollment continues to run ahead of last year. But it is not too late to enroll for some of the sessions. Call the office for details because some sessions may have waiting lists. We are looking forward to a wonderful Spirit filled summer. Thank you to all who make it possible like the Deans, volunteers, nurses, counselors, Summer camp committee, Trustees, donors and parents. We are indeed fortunate to have such a wonderful place as Camp Hardtner. IMPROVEMENTS- Lots of work has been going on at Hardtner Camp and Conference Center. Most guests will never see much of it but it will certainly be appreciated! Several air conditioner units have been repaired or replaced including the chapel and the kitchen. Fire alarm systems have been updated at Hardtner Central (office, dining hall, kitchen, chapel) and also at the Holy Day Inn/Henton Hall complex. There have been some electrical updates made around camp. Lots of smaller projects including some painting and repairs have been made to spruce things up have been accomplished this spring. There are always lots of projects to be accomplished. Next Fall we will have MIQRA weekend and will be looking for lots of help in accomplishing camp mission projects. Watch for details in August. FILL THE CANOE- The annual giving campaign continues to provide support to our ministry. You can help “fill the canoe” in many ways…..financially, sending campers, volunteering, donating materials etc. We appreciate the support of everyone who contributes to the continuing ministry of Camp Hardtner. The following donations have been made since we last published Hardtner news.
REMINDERS- Summer Campers all need a medical history form within the past 6 months and a doctors signature within past 24 months for camp. Official Camp photos will be available for ordering at camp check in for $10. The Camp Store has t–shirts, mugs, water bottles and other Hardtner for sale at the office Please remember to make your reservations EARLY for future events at camp so you will not be disappointed with the dates you get.
