HARDTNER NEWS FOR JUNE 2008 It is summer time! Camp is a happening place with all kinds of activity but it is not too late to sign up for summer camp! There are a limited number of spaces still available in most sessions left this summer. Contact the office today or download an application from the website. Don’t let your young person miss out on this fabulous opportunity. The Deans are ready. The staff is ready. The cooks are ready. The lifeguards are ready. The counselors are ready. The groundskeepers have been hard at work. Everybody is ready for a wonderful Summer Camp. DON’T MISS OUT! A new opportunity is also available for Parents this summer. So you do not have to leave so early on the last day of camp to pick up your camper there is now a Parent Special at the Holy Day Inn. Parents can reserve a motel type room the last night, meet other parents and have a continental breakfast the next morning and be already to go and listen to camp stories all the way home! Spaces are limited and the cost is $30 per person.
COMING SOON – Plans are being developed for a Hardtner Camp Store due to popular demand. Soon Hardtner items such as mugs, water bottles, hats, shirts, shorts etc will be available for purchase at the Camp Store and eventually maybe on line too. Keep watching for details. ALPINE TOWER- There has been a lot of activity over on the Alpine Tower recently. St. Paul’s of Shreveport recently brought a crew to try out the tower and their skills. Fr. Paul Martin became the first priest to make it to the top! Way to go Fr. Paul! There were rumors circulating there may be a challenge issued to his brother priests! FILL THE CANOE- Have you had your Camp Hardtner Sunday yet? The Fill the Canoe Campaign is off to a good start but still needs lots of follow up. Some churches have done an incredible job in support of our beloved camp. Each rector should have received a packet of information including a DVD presentation, brochures and poster. The purpose of the Campaign is two fold. It is designed to create an awareness and marketing strategy as well as launch an Annual Giving campaign to help support the facility. Additional income sources must be developed to maintain the facility in a manner it deserves. The goal is to raise $50,000 to support the budget. Individual and church donations are encouraged. Gifts should be sent to the Hardtner Camp and Conference Center office. Donations to date include: Thank you to all our donors and supporters for your gifts and prayers.
